Hypnotherapy & NLP
Hypnotherapy is a term used to describe a state of relaxation during which the mind becomes still and receptive enough to absorb suggestions made by the therapist to the client in order to improve, change or eradicate a behaviour or habit which the person no longer wants to engage with.
A hypnotherapy session consists of a consultation to discover what it is about your life that you would like to change. When this has been established and you are happy with the outline plan for your therapy, you would normally lie on a comfortable couch with relaxing background music.
A deep state of relaxation is then brought about by the use of creative visualization. At no time will you lose control of yourself or become unconscious. You will be fully aware of everything around you and able to get up and leave should you wish to! it will feel like the relaxed time we spend when we wake up in the morning prior to opening our eyes and starting the day.
All the suggestions made are in accordance wihh the theme agreed on during the consultation and in alignment with your own wishes.
The number of sessions needed will depend on individual needs and on what your goals are.
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP is a method of reprogramming the mind to take on new perceptions using positive imaging and creative visualization. It is often used as a stand alone technique but works even better when used in hypnotherapy. NLP can be very useful in improving performance and sport. I have also found it extremely useful in changing negative self perception and low self image.
